Richard Conrath - Cooper's Moon

Cooper's Moon

Richard Conrath will be appearing to sign copies of Cooper's Moon, the first of three novels in a mystery series.

While teaching philosophy at a small college in central Ohio, Cooper’s seven-year-old son, Maxie, is kidnapped, an event that would eventually destroy his marriage, his career, and his mental well-being, taking him from a rural, mid-western town into southeast Florida and the vicious world of child prostitution, gangs, and church treachery.

As he moves from Ohio to his new job in Miami, as a homicide detective, Cooper develops an uncanny ability to find the clues to detect and unravel other peoples’ secrets and lies as he works to solve crimes that only someone with a smoldering rage within can do.

As parallel stories within the novel unfold, the suffocating darkness of Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands engulf him as he becomes one with the wild and mysterious Great Swamp called the Everglades, all of which become a metaphor for his own life. He is alone - without his wife, without his son. With only the nightmares which haunt him both day and deep into the nights.

The signing will take place on Friday, August 10th, from 9 until 11 AM.
